urban camping

There are at least three major encampments I know of in Kiev protesting something or another. It's kind of ridiculous, actually. Today, a big one went up in front of the city council--half these people are protesting the hike in utilities; the other, not having been offered compensation by the city when they were swindled out of real estate investments.




On the home front, I did end up contracting either the stomach flu or food poisoning at the end of this week, but I'm fortunately feeling better. I decided to try get into the Christmas spirit, which isn't quite as active here as it should be, by decorating my very Soviet apartment. It's kind of cute, and maybe it will raise my spirits a bit.
