drunken scots
One of the things that I love about Kiev is that something strange is always happening. Not in the Moscow, "oh, is that a dead body?" kind of way, but in a pleasant way. Take yesterday, for example. I'm walking near Independence Square, and I hear drunken Scotch English and see 50+ men in kilts. Turns out it was the Scottish soccer team, who plays Ukraine tonight. I ran into them three more times yesterday, and they got drunker and drunker. Not sure how they can play after such a night last night, but I suppose that if anyone can handle it, it's the Scots.
I took the opportunity to snap a photo with one jovial chap. Yes, that is a winter coat, fleece vest, and scarf I'm wearing. Yes, it is October. Yes, it's going to be a long, cold winter.
