a ride around Helsinki

Got up early this morning, rented a bike, and rode some 50km around Helsinki. I got a good workout and a great sanadal tan on the way. :)

There are countless lakes in the middle of Helsinki (and countless islands around it). This is in the middle of the city, looking toward the Opera (to right of fountain) and downtown.


One of the many islands off the south coast of Helsinki. People bring their rugs to the waterside to wash and beat them out.


The 1952 Olympic Stadium, with the hero of those games in front. Characteristically weirdo Helsinki modern architecture.


I'm exhausted and am going to collapse into bed. Thank God "Spice World" is on TV!
