the hood

It's been cold and rainy here, unlike every other summer I've been in St. Petersburg, when it's been hot as hell. Cold and rainy is better for sleeping and working, but it's awfully depressing. I've learned this year that I have very bad Seasonal Affective Disorder, and it's glad to have a reminder NEVER to come to St. Petersburg when it's not the summer--I can't imagine all this in total darkness.

The area where I live is at least green, but rain means mud, mud, mud.




Oops, one Volga down the drain.


This isn't my neighborhood, but it's perhaps the most depressing city block in all St. Pete.
