Got up early this morning and headed downtown with friends to see the Victory Day celebrations. We were hoping to see the parade on Red Square, but discovered that it was by invitation only and closed until tomorrow. Instead, we milled around the center of town, which seems to be the thing to do. Everyone comes and brings flowers for the veterans, who strut around in their uniforms. It was cute!

This is as close as we could get to Red Square, which is behind the red brick building. The spires on the right are the Kremlin towers.
